Greater diversity in the defence community: Opportunities and challenges
We examine the challenges and opportunities in the military community’s drive to become more representative with Angela Owen OBE and Richard Blackmore
Angela Owen was in the British Army for 30 years. Her career included tours in the UK, Germany and Northern Ireland during the ‘Troubles’. Angela was one of the very first mothers to re-join the Army after the rules changed in the early 90s and has always cared deeply about helping women progress with a real passion for gender equity. In 2011, Angela founded Women in Defence UK. Angela is also Co-Chair of the Women in Defence Charter, a Companion of the CMI and a Senior Advisor to PA Consulting.
