The review process
To maintain our standards of excellence, all publications are subject to stringent scrutiny. Every piece of work undergoes a comprehensive internal review by our research and editorial teams. This process ensures factual accuracy, logical consistency, and alignment with our strategic objectives.
For substantive research papers and in-depth reports, we also use external peer review. We engage independent subject-matter experts to evaluate the methodology, evidence, and conclusions of the proposed publication. This dual-layered system of evaluation guarantees that our analysis is robust, credible, and capable of withstanding critical examination.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
At the Council on Geostrategy, we view AI as a highly positive tool that enhances our analytical capabilities and administrative efficiency. As AI technologies evolve, we have adopted specific applications to support our researchers and editorial staff. We use AI strictly as an assistive mechanism to ensure that human oversight remains central to all our publications – and to our broader mission.
Our usage of AI encompasses four core areas:

- Textual refinement: We utilise AI tools to assist with copyediting, e.g., correcting typographical mistakes, and restructuring text to enhance clarity and readability.

- Visual media: We use AI to generate images, such as illustrations and diagrams, that accompany our written work.
Copyright, authorship, and accountability
The Council on Geostrategy owns the copyright of all works produced, unless otherwise stated. However, authors are solely responsible for the content and the arguments that they present; our sponsors and Advisory Board bear no responsibility for our research output. AI tools, which cannot replace the subject-matter expertise of our personnel, do not generate our strategic analysis.
