Chris Brannigan joins the Council on Geostrategy as a Senior Associate
The Council on Geostrategy are delighted to announce that Chris Brannigan will be joining us as a Senior Associate. Chris Brannigan is a strategy consultant with significant experience in leading, supporting and directing diverse organisations in difficult situations. He is a partner in a number of strategic consultancies offering Board level counsel and bespoke political interpretation and policy advice.
He was a member of the No. 10 Policy Unit for Prime Minister Boris Johnson, with responsibility for Defence and established the Integrated Review Task Force, focusing on British foreign policy out to 2030. He previously served in 10 Downing Street as Director of Government Relations for Prime Minister Theresa May.
He has recently completed a role as Chief Executive Officer of a United Kingdom wide trade body and has led a number of London based, client focused, international reach businesses. He is a former military officer, with extensive combat experience of British military operations in recent decades and is also a Senior Fellow at Policy Exchange.
He was educated at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, holds an MA from Kings College, London, and completed the Joint Services Advanced Command and Staff Course.
Stephen Booth joins the Council on Geostrategy as an Associate Fellow
Main areas of expertise: Political economy of the UK and European Union, trade, regulation, and immigration policy.
We are also honoured to announce that Stephen Booth will be joining us as an Associate Fellow in Political Economy. Stephen Booth is an experienced public policy analyst and political commentator. His work focuses on the United Kingdom’s international economic relationships and the global economic and political trends affecting Britain’s place in the world.

He has authored several publications on trade, regulation, and immigration policy. He has appeared regularly in the media and is regularly invited to give evidence to a range of parliamentary select committees.Â
Previously, he was Head of the Britain in the World Project at Policy Exchange and Director of Policy and Research at the think tank Open Europe.
Chris Cash joins the Council on Geostrategy as an Associate Fellow
Main areas of expertise: British-Chinese relations, industrial strategy and technology, Chinese influence overseas.
We are also honoured to announce that Chris Cash will be joining us as an Associate Fellow in Chinese Geoeconomics. Chris Cash is Director of the China Research Group, working directly with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Prior to that, he spent two years with the British Council in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China. He holds an MSc in China and Globalisation from the Lau China Institute at King’s College, London and a BA in History from the University of St. Andrews.
