Statement on Intellectual Freedom

In harmony with our vision and mission, the Council on Geostrategy’s staff and associate fellows are free to generate their own ideas, concepts and theories, without interference.

In particular, we maintain strict autonomy in relation to sponsored projects; donors and clients are contractually asked to acknowledge and accept our intellectual independence before any project is initiated.

Except where otherwise indicated, the views expressed in our publications are the sole responsibility of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of our Advisory Council or the views of our donors and/or sponsors.

All research undertaken by us goes through a rigorous peer review process, involving both internal and external peer reviewers.

Funding

To ensure transparency, we disclose our sources of financial support in our publications (if sponsored by an external source) and annual reports. The initial start-up funding for the Council on Geostrategy was provided by Viktorija Starych-Samuolienė, Co-founder and Director of Strategy. We do not accept funding from individuals, companies, institutions or governments we consider to be hostile to the United Kingdom or other nations committed to a free and open international order.

The Council on Geostrategy is a non-profit organisation. We accept general and project-based funding from institutions, companies and individuals who share our mission and accept our intellectual independence.
