Geostrategy Limited (trading as ‘Council on Geostrategy’) is committed to making its website, https://www.geostrategy.org.uk, accessible to all users, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards and meet our obligations under the Equality Act 2010.
1. Accessibility features
Our website incorporates the following design and technical standards to improve usability:
- Navigation: Clear semantic heading structures and logical tab order for keyboard-only navigation.
- Text and contrast: High-contrast text against backgrounds to ensure readability and support for browser text resizing up to 200% without loss of functionality.
- Media and images: Alt text for informative images and diagrams.
- Responsive design: Content adapts easily to various screen sizes, orientation modes, and devices (i.e., mobile, tablet, and desktop).
2. Non-accessible content and known limitations
Despite our best efforts to maintain high accessibility standards across our digital output, some areas of the website may not be fully accessible:
- PDF research documents: As a think tank, we regularly publish detailed reports, policy papers, and analysis in PDF format. Some PDFs published since our launch on 2nd March 2021 may not be fully optimised for assistive technologies (e.g., lacking full screen-reader tagging, structured headings, or descriptive alt-text for complex charts and maps).
- Third-party content: Embedded third-party maps, video players, data visualisations, or social media feeds may not fully meet our WCAG standards.
We actively work to make our PDF publications as accessible as possible and are happy to provide accessible alternatives upon request.
3. Feedback and alternative formats
If you experience accessibility barriers while using our website, or if you require information from our site in an alternative format (such as accessible PDF, large print, or audio), please contact us:
- Contact page: https://www.geostrategy.org.uk/contact
- Response time: We aim to acknowledge all accessibility feedback within five working days and provide a resolution or alternative format as quickly as possible.
