The Council on Geostrategy is delighted to invite you to a documentary screening of A Chip Odyssey followed by a drinks reception. The event will take place on Tuesday, 28th April, from 17:00 to 19:00 (screening) and 19:00 to 20:30 (drinks reception), in the Palace of Westminster.
Taiwan is widely recognised as a global leader in the microchips that power the modern world. A Chip Odyssey is Taiwan’s first feature-length documentary (1 hour 46 minutes) to chronicle the extraordinary rise of the island’s semiconductor industry. Spanning more than half a century, the film traces the ambitions, setbacks and breakthroughs of a group of visionary pioneers who helped transform Taiwan into a technological powerhouse at the heart of the global economy. At the same time, A Chip Odyssey explores the profound geopolitical implications of this transformation, revealing how tiny silicon chips have come to shape international power, security and the future of global supply chains.
The documentary is in Mandarin with English subtitles. This event is being held in partnership with the Taipei Representative Office in the United Kingdom.
