Our Geostrategy Forum convenes and connects prominent stakeholders for monthly breakfast discussions on key geostrategic issues and foreign, defence and international trade policy matters. A keynote speaker discusses a prominent topic before invited guests exchange their views and ideas in a roundtable format.
The Geostrategy Forum takes place once a month at the In and Out Naval and Military Club. Events are by invitation only and take place strictly off the record.

Lord Coaker
Minister of State for DefenceLord Coaker is a Minister of State for Defence responsible for international relations, diplomacy and House of Lords parliamentary business, a position he has held since July 2024. His additional portfolio responsibilities include security and resilience, health and safety, and honours and awards. Previously, Lord Coaker served as Minister for Policing, Crime and Security (2008-09), and for Schools and Learning (2009-10), as well as Shadow Secretary of State for Defence (2013-15) and Northern Ireland (2011-13; 2015-16) before he joined the House of Lords as a Life Peer in 2021. He worked as a teacher in various schools (1976-1997) before being elected as a Member of Parliament in 1997.

Honorary Chair, Geostrategy ForumDr Carl Hunter OBE is Chairman of Coltraco Ultrasonics, a high-exporting advanced manufacturer. He is also: Chairman of the British Exporters Association; Director-General of the Durham Institute of Research, Development and Invention; Director of the Centre of Underwater Acoustic Analysis; Professor-in-Practice at Durham University Business School; Visiting Fellow of the Royal Navy Strategic Studies Centre; and Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.
