Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia

Krišjānis Kariņš has served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia since September 2023. Previously, he served as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, becoming one of the longest serving Heads of the Government in Latvia (January 2019 to September 2023). Kariņš was an member of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2019, an elected member of the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia from 2002 to 2009, and was the Minister of Economics between 2004 to 2006. Before entering politics, he worked in the private sector.
