Join Charles Parton OBE, Professor Rana Mitter OBE, and James Rogers to discuss what China wants from the United Kingdom
About this event
Within the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Xi Jinping, General-Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), seeks to forge ‘New China Man’. Abroad, he could be said to be promoting a ‘New China-compliant World’. Just as CCP members ‘do not dare, are not able, do not wish’ to be corrupt, so similarly Beijing applied inducements and pressures to ensure that countries such as the United Kingdom ‘do not dare, are not able, do not wish’ to go against the interests of the CCP. What are the implications? And what can Britain do to protect itself?
Join this fascinating discussion with leading China experts – Charlie Parton OBE and Professor Rana Mitter OBE and British strategic policy expert James Rogers to understand the nature of the PRC’s overall foreign policy objectives and coercive diplomacy strategies, particularly when applied to Britain.
