The Future Maritime Leaders’ Simulation was led by the Council on Geostrategy, in partnership with academics from King’s College London. This year’s simulation was titled ‘Confronting the CRINK’. The event brought together 50 emerging officers, government officials and experts to discuss and make decisions in the context of a series of crisis scenarios.

The simulation was based on the projection of emerging geostrategic trends and drew upon the deployment of the Royal Navy’s Carrier Strike Group in mid-2025 to create the context for policy responses. During two sessions, participants were invited to discuss and respond to actions within the scenario to develop a deeper understanding of the possible policy options provided by maritime capabilities across different theatres.
