1. Membership eligibility and admission
Admission to the Council on Geostrategy (the ‘Council’) is by invitation or application only. The Council reserves the right to refuse membership to any individual or entity without providing a justification. Membership is personal to the named individual or corporation and is non-transferable.
2. Member conduct
To facilitate free and open debate on sensitive geopolitical issues, all members agree to abide by the following rules:
- Participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed (‘non-attributable’).
- Members shall act with professional integrity and shall not engage in conduct that brings the Council into disrepute.
3. Fees and renewals
- Dues: Membership fees are payable annually. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
- Arrears: Failure to remit payment within 30 days of the renewal date will result in the automatic suspension of membership privileges.
4. Right of cancellation and termination
The Council maintains absolute discretion over its roster of members to ensure the security, integrity, and alignment of the organisation’s mission.
Discretionary cancellation clause: The Council reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to terminate or suspend any membership at any time, for any reason or no reason, without prior notice and without the obligation to provide a formal explanation. Upon such termination, the Council may, at its discretion, provide a pro-rata refund of any pre-paid dues, unless the termination resulted from a breach of the code of conduct specified in section 2.
5. Limitation of liability
The Council provides briefings, analysis, and networking opportunities for informational purposes. The Council shall not be held liable for any professional, financial, or political decisions made by members based on information shared during Council sessions.
6. Intellectual Property (IP)
All research papers, strategic maps, and proprietary data provided to members remain the sole IP of the Council. Members are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use these materials for personal, non-commercial professional development only.
7. Data privacy
Member data will be handled in accordance with the Council’s Privacy Policy and GDPR legislation. The Council will not sell member lists to third-party political or commercial entities.
8. Amendments
The Council reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes via the email address associated with their account.
