
Sam Goodman
Sam Goodman is Co-chair of the New Diplomacy Project, a think tank dedicated to developing a progressive foreign policy for Britain in the 21st century. He is also Senior Director of Policy at the China Strategic Risks Institute and a Senior Fellow at the Coalition for Global Prosperity. Previously, he worked as a political adviser to the Labour Party and a parliamentary researcher, and has a background in British foreign policy as an associate of the British Foreign Policy Group. From 2020 until 2023, he held positions as Senior Policy Adviser followed by Director of Policy and Advocacy at Hong Kong Watch. He is the author of The Imperial Premiership: The Role of the Modern Prime Minister in Foreign Policy Making, 1964-2015 (Manchester University Press, 2016), and has contributed to a number of media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, the Diplomat, and the Globe and Mail, as well as writing for the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).
