On behalf of the Council on Geostrategy, Lockheed Martin and the US Embassy London, we are pleased to invite you to the half-day conference: Britain and America: The future of the Atlantic alliance. The event will take place on Thursday, 26th June, from 09:00 to 12:30, at the US Embassy London.

For over a century, the relationship between the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States (US) has defined the modern era. It has seen off adversaries bent on imposing authoritarian ideologies upon the world. It has created the science and technology which has improved the lives of billions. It has structured the economic order of the world, with New York and London as its beating financial hearts. Will the alliance hold in the 21st century, or will the two nations drift apart? As changes occur in the relationship, how can alliance managers on both sides find new avenues for cooperation?

This half-day conference will discuss and debate the most important bilateral relationship by drawing together a number of key stakeholders to focus on the future of the alliance in an era of growing and sustained systemic competition. It will also mark the launch of a new report by the Council on Geostrategy’s Strategic Advantage Cell on the future of the strategic relationship between Britain and America. The event will feature two panel discussions:

  • Panel 1: Challenges and opportunities for the UK-US alliance: The future of the Atlantic alliance
  • Panel 2: Transatlantic defence industrial collaboration

The conference will feature eight expert speakers, with representation from the Council on Geostrategy, Lockheed Martin and the US Embassy London.

Please note that this event is invitation only and off the record.
