Since its official launch in March 2021, the Council on Geostrategy has established itself as a leading think tank dedicated to generating a new generation of geostrategic thinking for a more competitive age.
Our non-profit organisation focuses on shaping British strategic ambition in an international environment increasingly defined by geopolitical competition and the environmental crisis so that the United Kingdom is best able to succeed and prosper in the twenty-first century.
Role:
We seek to appoint a highly motivated, well-organised individual with excellent organisational, interpersonal and communications skills to coordinate our events and operations. The successful applicant will have a graduate or postgraduate degree and a keen interest in strengthening the national power and profile of the United Kingdom, as well as foreign affairs, and international security more generally.
The Events and Operations Coordinator will be an integral part of our organisation’s team. The successful applicant will actively involve themselves in running our events programme and assisting with daily operations at the leading think tank in Westminster dedicated to generating a new generation of geostrategic thinking for a more competitive age.
This role is an excellent opportunity for the successful application to immerse themselves in the world of Westminster and promote the strengthening of Britain domestically and internationally.
Tasks:
- Coordinating our events programme;
- Creating and disseminating events invitations and promotions;
- Working closely with Policy and Membership Relations Officer and Communications and Creativity Officer in ensuring all events are successful;
- Establishing and nurturing relationships with our events subcontractors and partners;
- Attending all events and ensuring they run smoothly;
- Supporting Director of Strategy with daily operations coordination (registering absences/holiday requests; uploading invoices on the Dext app);
- Other relevant duties related to the role.
Requirements:
- Graduate (Classification of 2.1 or equivalent or above) and/or postgraduate degree;
- Excellent organisational, time-management and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to build long-term relationships with stakeholders;
- Some events management/coordination experience would be highly desirable;
- General skills in Google Workstation, and other key IT applications; social media skills;
- Perfect command of English and attention to detail;
- Team worker with a proactive inclination and positive attitude;
- An interest in strengthening the national power and profile of the United Kingdom, as well as foreign affairs, international security and environmental security more generally.
Salary: £26,000 per annum (gross)
