Dr James Fargher FRGS AKC is the William Hewett Associate Fellow in Red Sea Geopolitics at the Council on Geostrategy. He is an experienced analyst and researcher focused on historic and contemporary security issues in Africa and Europe. He has worked as a security consultant in the UK and Singapore, leading and contributing to major projects on behalf of multinational corporations, non-governmental organisations, and insurance firms. He holds a PhD in War Studies from King’s College London and has been featured as a speaker at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the United States Naval Academy. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and an Associate of King’s College London.
