Neil Brown

Honorary Fellow

Neil Brown is Geopolitical Strategist at Deltroit Asset Management, following a similar role at CQS. Previously, he served as an officer in the Royal Navy, with operational deployments in three air defence destroyers and logistics command of a Carrier Task Group, before leading the Navy’s Legal Services and Naval Staff. He also worked for the Cabinet Office, developing a national strategy for engagement with Gulf Cooperation Council States.

Rachel Hahn-Morris

Rachel Hahn-Morris is the Sector Chief Information Security Officer for BAE Systems Maritime and Land, protecting – under cybersecurity’s umbrella – submarine and naval ship builds as well as covering BAE Systems Australia. Previously, she served in the Ministry of Defence as a senior leader in military capability delivery, playing roles in initiatives including the Five Eyes Alliance, AUKUS and GCAP, following a career spanning more than two decades as a civil and crown servant.

Isabel Hilton OBE

Isabel Hilton OBE is Chair of the Great Britain-China Centre, as well as founder and Senior Adviser to the China Dialogue Trust. She studied Chinese in both Edinburgh and China, and is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Council on Geostrategy’s China Observatory; a Visiting Professor at the Lau Institute, King’s College London; and a Senior Adviser to the China Council.

Dr Rob Johnson

Dr Rob Johnson is Director of the Oxford Strategy, Statecraft and Technology (Changing Character of War) Centre as well as a Senior Research Fellow at Pembroke College, University of Oxford. He is also a Professor at the Norwegian Defence University Staff College. Prior to this, he was the first Director of the Office of Net Assessment and Challenge in the Ministry of Defence.

Christian Le Miere

Christian Le Miere is Founder and CEO of Arcipel, a strategic advisory company providing defence, security and geopolitical advice to governments and corporations worldwide. Previously, he was a Senior Adviser to the Government of Abu Dhabi, a Senior Fellow for the International Institute of Strategic Studies, and a Managing Editor at Janes. His research has focused on the People’s Republic of China, Indo-Pacific security and maritime affairs.

Rob Murray

Honorary Fellow

Rob Murray is Chief Executive Officer of the Defence, Security and Resilience (DSR) Bank Development Group, working to establish a new multilateral institution to finance allied defence and security. He has served as Head of Innovation at NATO, Chief Innovation Officer at Saab, and as an officer in the British Army. He also holds academic appointments at Johns Hopkins University and Imperial College London.

Charles Parton OBE

Honorary Fellow

Charles Parton OBE is Chief Adviser to the Council on Geostrategy’s China Observatory, as well as a fellow at the Royal United Services Institute and Mercator Institute for China Studies. He served as a diplomat for 37 years, spending 22 of these working in or on the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. For his final posting, he was seconded to the European Union’s Delegation in Beijing as First Counsellor.

Peter Watkins CB CBE

Honorary Fellow

Peter Watkins CB CBE is a Visiting Professor at King’s College London. Previously, he was Director General at the Ministry of Defence from 2014-2018, where he was responsible for strategic policy and planning, deterrence policy, defence industrial policy and defence relations with allies. He has also served as Director General of the Defence Academy, Director of Operational Policy and Director of the Typhoon programme.
