The Council on Geostrategy, in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast, is pleased to invite you to the next International Sea Power Conference (ISPC) 2025 side event. This session, entitled: ‘The UK and Ireland: Maritime security cooperation’, will take place at the Belfast Harbour Commissioners Office.
The half day conference will host two panel sessions focused on the key challenges and opportunities that Britain and Ireland face in the maritime domain. Panel one, ‘British-Irish naval cooperation and Atlantic maritime security’ will explore how both countries can navigate the evolving geopolitical environment and cooperate to tackle shared naval challenges such as capacity gaps, resource constraints and technological change.
Panel two, ‘Security of subsea infrastructure’ will bring together experts to discuss how the UK and Ireland can ensure the security of critical subsea pipelines and data cables, in the face of increasing pressures on energy supplies and growing prevalence of attacks, both cyber and kinetic.
