The Maritime Leaders’ Shipping Forum (MLSF) will run a programme of events throughout the year to create a wider new generation community of practice, and establish and cultivate a close-knit network of professionals and leaders working on maritime affairs.
With a strong focus on thought leadership output, strategic shipping and international participation from Nordic countries, the MLSF will merge the worlds of established leaders and upcoming leaders in the field to deliver strategic conversations while still delivering the mission of educating and promoting younger generations.
Themes will focus on ensuring resilient maritime supply chains, securing rapid access to ship capacity, protecting reinforcement routes and commercial vessels with the overall aim of reducing vulnerabilities, and strengthening the safety of seaborne trade.

The Maritime Leaders’ Shipping Forum will bring together a mix of up-and-coming professionals and established experts from industry, policymaking and academia to foster strategic thinking. The Maritime Leaders’ Shipping Forum is part of the Sea Power Laboratory. The Sea Power Laboratory is the new generation research and engagement programme to generate maritime thinking. It fosters a systemic approach comprising political, policy, industrial and other stakeholders, to achieve strategic understanding of how Britain can mobilise and deploy sea power to promote national prosperity and protect the nation’s interests. The Laboratory tests new ideas, generates innovative policy recommendations, convenes key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, nurtures a next-generation maritime community and disseminates maritime discourse to the wider public.
