Two new International Fellows join the Council on Geostrategy

The Council on Geostrategy is thrilled to announce that Dr Henning Hoff and Prof. Nobukatsu Kanehara are joining us as International Fellows!

Dr Henning Hoff is Executive Editor of Internationale Politik Quarterly (IPQ), Editor-at-Large of Internationale Politik (IP), and an expert on German and European foreign and security policy. He studied international history in Cologne and London and, after receiving his doctorate, worked as a foreign correspondent in the British capital for nearly a decade. He co-founded the Weltkiosk publishing house in 2010, dedicated to international journalism. In 2011, he joined IP and its publisher, the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), in Berlin. He regularly writes the ‘Berlin Cable’ column for IPQ; his commentary and analysis have appeared, inter alia, in The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, BBC World, France24, and Deutsche Welle.

Prof. Nobukatsu Kanehara is a Professor at Reitaku University, Kashiwa, Japan. Previously, he served in the Government of Japan as Assistant Chief Cabinet Secretary and Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Secretariat between 2013 and 2019. He also served abroad as Deputy Chief of Mission in Seoul, Minister at the Embassy of Japan in the United States and Minister of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations. He was decorated by the president of Republic of France with Ordre de la Legion d’Honneur.
