The Council on Geostrategy is delighted to announce that Dr Rob Johnson is joining us as a Distinguished Fellow in Strategic Advantage!
Dr Rob Johnson is the Director of the Oxford Strategy, Statecraft, and Technology (Changing Character of War) Centre, and Senior Research Fellow, Pembroke College, University of Oxford. He is also a Professor at the Norwegian Defence University Staff College. Previously, Rob was the first Director of the Office of Net Assessment and Challenge in the Ministry of Defence, working closely with the Secretary of State for Defence, ministers, and the Cabinet Office. He continues to advise and deliver direct support to government and armed forces in defence and security matters. As a scholar of history, strategic studies, and international relations, he combines academic analyses with ‘knowledge exchange’ policy impact.
Main areas of expertise: military strategy, operations, military conceptual developments, and strategic decision-making.
